Hi, I’m Heather
HEATHER HELMY, RDN, LD, CLC, CPPD, NCS
As a child, I found great comfort sitting with my family to share a meal. My passion for food science and human nutrition began in those early days, whether I was helping harvest vegetables from our garden or playing in the orange grove at my best friend's home. Those experiences planted the seeds for my lifelong interest in how food nourishes our bodies and brings people together.
My approach to postpartum care puts nutrition front and center, ensuring that all my clients have nutrient-dense warm meals to support their recovery and all the help they need to care for themselves and their babies. Postpartum care has been my natural next step, bringing together a lifetime of caring for others with my passion for food and nutrition.

What is a family dietitian?
A family dietitian is a nutrition expert who guides and supports individuals and families to help them develop and maintain healthy eating habits. They work with families to evaluate their nutritional needs, create personalized meal plans, and address any food-related concerns or challenges. Family dietitians educate clients on the importance of balanced nutrition and offer practical advice on meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking. Their goal is to support families in making informed food choices, fostering a healthy relationship with food, and ensuring overall well-being.
What is a Certified Lactation Counselor
A Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) is a trained and certified professional who specializes in providing breastfeeding support and education to parents and caregivers. They are equipped to address common challenges related to lactation, such as latching difficulties, milk supply issues, and breastfeeding techniques. CLCs also offer guidance on maintaining breastfeeding during special circumstances, such as returning to work or managing health conditions. Certification as a lactation counselor involves completing a rigorous educational program and passing a comprehensive examination, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to support families effectively.
What is a postpartum doula?
A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to new parents during the postpartum period, typically the first six weeks after childbirth. Their services include assisting with newborn care, breastfeeding support, and guidance on postpartum recovery. They also help with household tasks, meal preparation, and offer emotional reassurance to ease the transition into parenthood. The goal of a postpartum doula is to support the new family, promote bonding, and ensure the well-being of parents and baby during this critical time.
